Serbia’s legendary tennis player Novak Djokovic has won Wimbledon Open for the seventh time. He defeated Nick Kyrgios of Australia in the men’s singles final on Sunday (July 10) in a four-set match. Djokovic won the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). He won the 21st Grand Slam title of his career. Djokovic has reached second place in terms of winning the most Grand Slams.
Djokovic moved up to second place for the most Wimbledon wins in the Open Era (since 1968). Next to him is Roger Federer of Switzerland. Federer has won eight Wimbledons. He last won this title in 2017. Djokovic equaled Pete Sampras of America by becoming the champion for the seventh time. Britain’s William Renshaw won seven titles in the Amateur Era (before 1968).
