Children’s life-saving immunizations have dropped significantly over the past year. The World Health Organization and UNICEF have recorded the biggest decline in nearly 30 years. According to the latest data, more than 25 million newborns worldwide did not receive basic vaccines last year. Global vaccination was already decreasing, but Corona increased it further.
According to WHO and UNICEF, the number of children taking three doses of protection against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough (DTP3) declined by five per cent in 2019 to 81 per cent in 2021. India also saw a decline in vaccination coverage in 2020. However, in 2021, India improved the situation with five times more vaccinations.
More than 20 thousand new corona patients found
The cases of corona infection are not decreasing in the country. For the third consecutive day on Saturday, more than 20 thousand patients have been found. The Union Health Ministry said, 20,044 new cases of corona virus infection have been reported in a day. Meanwhile, 56 patients have died.
