Suryashekhar Won The Fischer Random Event Of Beale Chess, Scoring 6.5 Points With Six Wins And One Draw – Chess Festival

Indian Grandmaster Surya Shekhar Ganguly emerged victorious in the Fischer Random event of the Beel Chess Festival, beating compatriot SP Sethuraman here on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old from Kolkata scored 6.5 points from seven rounds with six wins and one draw while Sethuraman had 5.5 points. French women’s Grandmaster Vera Nebolsina also scored 5.5 points.

Ganguly defeated Arshaveer Muselien (Switzerland), Sai Kalluri Hari Charan (India), Robin Angst (Switzerland), Jose Antonio Herrera Reyes (Spain), Sethuraman and Konstantin Ragios (Greece) while drawing against Alexandra Kosteniuk. Sethuraman had to bear the brunt of the loss to Ganguly.
