So far 102 people have died in accidents due to rain this monsoon season in Maharashtra. Three of these deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. The State Disaster Management Authority released the report of the current monsoon season (from June 1 to July 14) on Friday. In Maharashtra, in the last 24 hours, one person died and two people are missing in Buldhana, Nashik and Nandarbar districts.

According to the report, these people died due to incidents like floods, lightning, landslides, falling of trees and walls. According to the data, 20 villages were affected by the heavy rains and 3873 people were shifted to safe relief camps. 20 villages in Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts received 20.5 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.

From Gadchiroli, 11 thousand people have been shifted to a safe place in 45 villages. At the same time, it has been raining continuously for the last few days in Mumbai and its surrounding areas. Parashuram Ghat on the Mumbai-Goa highway has been closed.

Red alert in Palghar, rivers above danger mark
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rain in Palghar district. The major rivers of the district, Vaitarna and Tansa are flowing above the danger mark. Deputy Collector Kiran Mahajan said the Vaitarna river crossed the danger mark after 35,000 cusecs of water was released from Modak Sagar on Thursday. The havoc of rain in South Gujarat and Saurashtra continued on Friday as well. Normal life was disrupted due to heavy rains. On Friday, 200 mm of rain was recorded in six talukas of both the regions. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in the region in the next 24 hours. In Navsari, 811 people were evacuated to a safe place in a day.
