Just before US President Joe Biden arrived in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf country opened its airspace to all aircraft. This move of Saudi Arabia is being considered as a sign of open stance towards Israel. Biden welcomed the decision.
Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that it was lifting restrictions on all airlines using its airspace. A statement has been issued saying that airlines fulfilling all the necessary conditions to fly from the skies of the country will be able to use the air space.
US President Biden has welcomed it, calling it a historic decision. This is Saudi Arabia’s new compromise stance towards Israel. Prior to this, Israel had made several attempts to establish relations with Arab countries, but despite them refused to recognize it from Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement on Twitter, opening it to all international airlines.
