Will next share the screen with Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in Shamshera. While the actor is promoting his film these days, he recently spoke about his bond with Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir also revealed what ‘Sanju sir’ had said while working on his 2012 film ‘Barfi’. During a recent event, Ranbir shared how Sanjay Dutt scoffed at him for doing ‘bad films’ and jokingly asked if his next film after Barfi would be ‘Peda or Laddu’.

The actor said, “When I was working in Barfi and Rockstar, I used to workout in Sanjay’s gym. He used to tell me, ‘You have been doing gym here for two years. But where is your body? He would also ask me, ‘You are doing barfi right now. Then which is your next film? tree? Laddu?’” However, Ranbir also revealed how Sanjay Dutt has been a constant support and inspiration for him. Describing Sanjay Dutt as a father figure, Ranbir said, “He has always patted me on the back, he is very happy and proud of whatever I have done.

Ranbir further added that he (Sanjay Dutt) has always inspired me to do a different kind of films, and also films that speak to a larger audience. I am very happy to have a father like Sanju sir, who is patting me on my back and constantly motivating me.” Talking about the film Shamshera, the film depicts the period of 1870, when India was under British rule. While Ranbir will play the role of a dacoit, Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the role of a cop.Shamshera will release on 22nd of this month.

Apart from Shamshera, Ranbir will also be seen in his much-awaited film Brahmastra. In this film, he will be sharing the screen with his wife, actress Alia Bhatt for the first time. Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and South actor Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film will hit the theaters on September 9 this year. Apart from this, Ranbir is also shooting for Luv Ranjan’s upcoming film with Shraddha Kapoor. He also has Animal with Rashmika Mandanna in the pipeline.
