India China Military Commanders Talks On Border Dispute On 17 July

The 16th round of talks between the military commanders of India and China will be held on July 17 to resolve the standoff on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Official sources said on Friday that the talks will take place on the Indian side of the LAC. The 15th round of high-level talks between the armies of the two countries was held on March 11.
India is continuously pressuring for the resolution of the issues in Depsang Bulge and Demchok as well as the early withdrawal of troops from all remaining disputed sites. India maintains that maintaining peace and patience along the border is the first necessary condition for progress in overall bilateral relations.
A source said that the 16th round of talks will be held at Chushul-Moldo on the Indian border on July 17 in connection with the ongoing talks on the withdrawal of troops from the areas along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. The issue of dispute related to eastern Ladakh figured prominently in talks held in Bali between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi last week. In an hour-long meeting in Bali on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers’ conference, Jaishankar had conveyed to Yi the need for early resolution of all pending issues in eastern Ladakh.
He also said that relations between the two countries should be based on mutual respect, mutual sensitivity and mutual interests.
