The matter is getting more complicated between Elon Musk, the owner of the world’s top EV maker Tesla, and the social media platform Twitter. After Musk announced his decision to withdraw from the Twitter deal, several legal issues have emerged regarding the deal. Earlier it was said by Twitter that Elon Musk will have to pay a large amount as compensation for the cancellation of the deal.
Now a new report has surfaced that before withdrawing from the deal, Musk sent a text message to Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal in which he wrote that lawyers on Twitter’s behalf were trying to create problems in the case. Musk wrote that when he was asked to provide financial details to complete the deal, lawyers had been trying to create problems in the matter ever since.
Musk sent this message to Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal on June 28, in which he talked about being harassed by lawyers. The text message purportedly read (translated in Hindi), “Your lawyers are using this conversation to create problems. This should be stopped.”
There was a deal of $ 44 billion (about Rs 35.1 trillion) between Elon Musk and Twitter. Twitter recently filed a lawsuit against Musk after Musk pulled out of it. The Verge According to Twitter, Musk accused Musk of hypocrisy and filed a lawsuit in Delaware Court of Chancery. Twitter has alleged that Musk is trying to run away from the deal.
Musk announced in early July the termination of the deal to buy Twitter, for which his team sent Twitter a letter informing about it. Musk decided to call off the deal because, according to him, the purchase agreement was violated multiple times. In April, Musk signed an agreement to buy Twitter to pay the company $54.20 per share, according to which Musk was to pay Twitter $44 billion.
However, Musk put the deal on hold in May so that his team could investigate Twitter’s claim that the number of bot accounts or spam accounts on the platform was less than 5 percent. Then in June, he warned Twitter of violating the agreement that he could withdraw from the deal if the company did not provide data on spam accounts as he asked.
