India’s bullet train drivers will be given special training to drive high-speed trains using state-of-the-art ‘simulator’ devices made in Japan. Officials of National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) said that these trainings will help simulator drivers, operators, trainers and train maintenance staff to understand the principle of driving high speed trains.
He said that along with the driver and operator, training can be given to other personnel through the simulator. NHSRCL stated that NHSRCL has given letter of acceptance for design, manufacture, supply and induction of training simulator of HSR train to be used for training at HSR Training Institute of Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) at Vadodara, Gujarat. has been issued.
A sample track has already been made for training in Vadodara. In this regard, a package of Rs 201.21 crore has been given to M/s Mitsubishi Precision Co. Ltd., Japan. The time frame for their supply is 28 months.
The bullet train project in Maharashtra was stalled due to delay in government approvals and land acquisition, but has gained momentum after the Eknath Shinde-led government was formed in the state.
