Indian pair of Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the bronze medal at the World Games. The pairing of Abhishek and Jyoti is running in excellent form. After winning the gold medal in the last month, both of them have done well in the World Games as well. In the mixed archery event, the Indian pair won the bronze medal by defeating the Mexican pair of Andrea Becerra and Miguel Becerra. Indian pair won this match by one point. After making a good start in the first round, the performance of the Indian pair was disturbed in the second round and the players of Mexico leveled the score. However, in the end the Indian players proved better and won the match by one point.
The Indian players absorbed the pressure better in the final sticks of the match and eventually won by a margin of 157-156.

The Archery Association of India reported that it was India’s first medal at the World Games and Verma’s 50th medal at the international level, a former World Cup gold medalist. Verma is now the only Indian archer to win a medal in all stages of compound archery. He has won medals in World Games, World Championship, World Cup Final, World Cup, Asian Games, Asian Championship.
However, Abhishek could not do much in the singles competition. In the quarterfinals, he was knocked out by US World Champion and number one Mike Schlosser. He then lost in the semi-final match against world number four Jean-Philippe Boulch by a margin of 141–143. After this, he also lost the bronze medal match to Christopher Perkins of Canada by a margin of 145-148.
